
Latitudes at Margaritaville comes to Volusia
County, Daytona Beach area Fall of 2017
Master developer Minto Communities LLC and Margaritaville Holdings Inc. on February 16th 2017 announced a partnership to develop a new Jimmy Buffett inspired active 55 and older community. Over 6,900 homes are scheduled to be built in the low $200s to the Mid $300s. Mike Belmont, president of Minto’s U.S. operations, is quoted in saying “he is not surprised by the buzz that Latitude Margaritaville has generated. “he goes on to say, it is rich with activities, including concerts and special events, as well as amenities such as a resort lifestyle pool and pickleball courts. “It’s a great location, Belmont added. “Daytona is a fun place to be, with a beautiful beach, and it’s just 45 minutes from Orlando. Over 1,600 acres off LPGA Blvd, and I-95 you are close to the world’s most famous beaches; championship golf at LPGA International; Daytona Beach Speedway and the Daytona Beach International l Airport
The overall project which was previously called Tomoka, will bring homes, shops, amenities an transportation to nearby vacation destinations and beaches, not to forget the thousands of jobs it will bring to our area.

Sam Sutton of Sutton Properties has agreed to develop
38 acres for the commercial center for Latitudes Margaritaville. The 200,000-sq.
ft. commercial center will be anchored by both a grocery store, which Sam
Sutton said, will be 40,000 to 45,000 sq. ft. as well as the yet to be determined
Margaritaville Holdings restaurant, which will be 6,000 sq. ft. and will
include an outdoor deck. The eatery will be along a man-made lake that will
include a sandy beach to evoke the Margaritaville lifestyle depicted in Buffett’s
signature tune.
The dual- restaurant complex is being built on a 6-acre lot at 451 S. Atlantic Ave. just north of the Volusia County lifeguard headquarters and Sun Splash Park, in Daytona Beach.
LandShark Bar & Grill is a family-friendly beach joint, complete with fish tacos, coconut shrimp, the "Landshark" burger and, of course, over a half-dozen types of margaritas.
Site work on the oceanfront project,
which will include a separately owned Tex-Mex eatery called Cocina 214
Restaurant & Bar, is set to begin this week.
